Government Accountability Institute president Peter Schweizer appeared on the Global Macro Update podcast with host Ed D’Agostino to talk about his 2024 book Blood Money. The book reveals China’s “disintegration warfare” strategy against the United States, which is a subtle societal attack rooted in the strategic writings of Sun Tzu.

Their discussion ranges to the main thrusts of the book’s revelations. First they discuss the very intentional poisoning of America through the manufacture and distribution of fentanyl, which the Chinese do through their Mexican cartel proxies. Schweizer argues that Trump’s tariff pushback targeting Canada and Mexico is in part driven by a desire to stem fentanyl flows.

They also discuss President Donald Trump’s efforts to broker peace in Ukraine, which Schweizer believes is being undertaken partially to drive a wedge between Russia and China.

Schweizer details how China fuels the fentanyl crisis, killing 100,000 Americans yearly through their partnerships with organized crime and elite capture of politicians in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. He exposes China’s role in smuggling Glock switches and fentanyl precursors. He critiques political corruption, such as former President Biden’s and Sen. Mitch McConnell’s ties to Chinese money. He calls for transparency in campaign finance to counter foreign influence.

The conversation also discusses China’s efforts to co-opt American political and economic leaders, a strategy the Chinese communists themselves call “elite capture.”

For those who have not yet read the book, which was a #1 New York Times bestseller for several weeks, D’Agostino’s interview is thorough and detailed.
