“In defending himself today over the news that he had donated $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation over three years, ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos spoke of his support for the charity’s work on global AIDS prevention and deforestation. He made the contributions for the “best reasons,” he said.
Such motives would distinguish him from all the other Clinton Foundation donors. You know, the ones seeking favors from the Clintons. Stephanopoulos referenced those donors in an April 28 interview on the “Daily Show” with Jon Stewart. The two were discussing politics and money, with Stewart introducing spring’s hot topic — a book by author Peter Schweizer, “Clinton Cash,” alleging that donors to the deep-pocketed Clinton Foundation had interests in certain matters that came before the State Department under Hillary Rodham Clinton’s leadership.”
