Government Accountability Institute President and author Peter Schweizer joined Sky News host James Morrow to discuss the United States Agency for International Development.
President Donald Trump’s shutdown of USAID has “alarmed” Democrats.
Schweizer has lauded the efforts by Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk who is at the helm of the efforts by DOGE in cutting government “waste.”
“There was a story of a nonprofit group, based in London, that dealt with LGBTQ issues that is cutting half its staff because of how of their budget came from USAID,” Schweizer noted. “As far as I know, London does not need developmental aid.”
It is also associated wit a lot of political activities. After a devastating earthquake in Haiti while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, “more than 60 percent of the aid dollars that were supposed to go to Haiti ended up with these consultancies in the Washington DC area,” Schweizer said, referencing his 2015 bestseller Clinton Cash. Many of the grantees were “FOBs.” he said.
