Jan Jeffcoat, anchor of The National Desk, welcomed Peter Schweizer to her program to react to news that has once again renewed interest in the Bill and Hillary Clinton foundation’s pay-to-play operations.
Recently declassified FBI documents suggest that senior officials in the Obama administration’s Department of Justice and the FBI ordered agents to halt their investigations into potential pay-to-play schemes involving the Clinton Foundation during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.
Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute and a New York Times bestselling author, has spent years investigating political corruption and the financial dealings of America’s top elected officials.
His 2015 book titled ‘Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich’ investigates alleged connections between the Clinton Foundation Donors and Hillary Clinton’s work at the state department.
Schweizer discussed the latest developments with Jeffcoat and what these may mean for future accountability in Washington.
The Clintons have previously said that when Bill Clinton ended his presidency, they owed millions of dollars in legal fees. However, in the years that followed until 2014, they earned more than $240 million dollars from a variety of sources.
