The National Desk, a program of the Sinclair Broadcasting Network, recently wrote about GAI’s reporting on what it calls “shockingly well-organized and well-funded” violence and riots targeting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“The group alleges that domestic extremist networks, including Antifa, are behind the unrest. In response, the Trump administration has vowed to investigate all funding sources linked to groups it classifies as domestic terrorist organizations,” the report said.
Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute and author of nearly a dozen New York Times bestsellers, joined The National News Desk to discuss the findings.
“Part of the challenge is they work very hard to obscure the money,” Schweizer told anchor Jan Jeffcoat. “You have to trace the money and often times efforts are made to obscure the flow of money or money is said to go to one project but it’s actually going to something else.”
He went on to suggest that federal law enforcement must “use their ability to subpoena financial records” to track down money sources.
He also alleged that “organizations registered as non-profits,” in the 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) category have “organized violent protests” through means of outside donations.
