Peter Schweizer, president of GAI, appeared on the radio show of Rita Cosby and John Catsimatidis to talk about U.S.-China relations on Apr. 25.
Schweizer highlighted China’s own economic challenges, including falling property values, and their strategic moves to avoid appearing weak in trade negotiations with the U.S. Schweizer noted Trump’s tariff strategy aims to curb Chinese influence, particularly on fentanyl production, which involves Chinese nationals working with Mexican cartels.
He also emphasized the need for a strong stance by the US to counter China’s hegemonic ambitions and predicted no major trade deal soon, because China believes time is on their side.
Schweizer also connected U.S. policy on the Panama Canal and Russia-Ukraine to reducing Chinese global influence.
